How secure is your website?

The NY Criminal Records website is encrypted using SSL to protect your personal and credit card information. The search request page is a secure webpage which you can notate by the security lock at the bottom of the page and the "s" in the website address of "https".

We are very sensitive to the privacy and security concerns that individuals have with respect to personal information. Our website is secure and utilizes 128bit encryption and we have a valid security certificate which again can be notated by the security lock at the bottom of the page and the "s" in the https:// indicating the security.

How much does it cost to run a search?

Each search has a different price which is charged to the credit card you entered after your report has been created and the results have been emailed to you.  The search pricing is available on the available searches page and search form page.

How does your No-Hit No-Fee policy work?

For selected searches we offer a No-Hit No-Fee policy which means that if your search produces no results we will not charge your credit card.

Is anyone notified I am searching for them?

All your searches are confidential. No one is notified that you are searching for them.

What credit card types do you accept?

Currently, we accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express. When you chose to perform a search, we require that you enter your credit card information. However, your credit card is not charged until the search is actually performed.

When is my credit card charged?

We do not charge your credit card until we have your search results and they have been sent to the email address you provided.  If you have not received your search results and your credit card was charged, please contact us so that we can resend you the results.

How accurate is your information?

The data used in the NY Criminal Records system may have errors. Data is sometimes entered poorly, processed incorrectly, and is generally not free from defect. This system should not be relied upon as definitively accurate. Before relying on any data this system supplies, it should be independently verified.

How long does it take to receive search results?

During regular business hours search results are usually returned within 2 hours.  However, under rare circumstances it may take up to 2 business days.  Your credit card will not be charged until the search results are emailed to you.
